Bob Christo Biography
Bob Christo is an Indian actor. Born in Australia, Bob Christo came to Bombay (now Mumbai) to meet Indian actress Parveen Babi, and also because he was waiting for a work permit to work in Muscat which required him to be out of Muscat.
He got a chance to work in a negative role in a Hindi movie named Abdullah. Since then Bob Christo decided to stay in India and has done over 200 movies by his own admission. Bob Christo had a well built body and a shaved head, which helped him in getting all the roles in Hindi movies that required a white guy in a negative role. Tom Alter remains the only other Indian actor to have done so many roles as a foreigner who could speak fluent Hindi and did a wider variety of acting. Bob Christo was limited to the role of a foreigner who acted as a henchman or the villains sidekick or a British officer in period films.Bob now works as a Yoga instructor in Bangalore and has not been in a Hindi movies since 2003.Partly due to how little is known about him and partly due to the number of movies in which he has appeared , Bob Christo apparently has a cult following of sorts, there is a website dedicated to him called bollybob.
On Tuesday 17th June 2008 Adil Ray offically announced as part of the BBC Asian Network's Bollywood month
that he was going to search for the legend Bob. Adil is hoping to speak to Bob this week.*
